We’re all wrapping 2022 in different ways at our member schools.
Students are finished with finals and heading home. Sleep may be the highest priority. Faculty turn in their grades, then set their out-of-office email reply. Staff may have to poke around for a few more days before powering down their computers and heading out. The CCSA team follows a similar pattern except there are still details to lock down before the Winter 22-23 participants collect at various airports across the U.S. for their flights to Australia and London.
The CCSA offices will be closed from December 19 to January 2. During this time, we will limit our focus to the winter programs as the team enjoys some downtime.
As we wrap of 2022, we reflect on the rollercoaster year that was preceded by two difficult years.
The spring proved a hit-and-miss as we all watched the DOS and CDC travel warnings. The log-jam broke in April when the travel warnings dropped for our summer destinations. We moved into high gear and conducted programs in Belize, Ireland, and England.
The Fall ushered in that pent-up demand of students who’d missed out on their study abroad experience for three years. We had a surge of early applications and moved forward with solid enrollments for our winter programs. In fact, one theater course has 38 students. Clearly they’ve been waiting a long time to get to London.
And of course, we celebrated 40 years fo CCSA.
The Next Step
We know 2023 will bring changes and challenges, but we remain confident that our programs and courses offer a special experience to students. We never take for granted the faculty and staff from our member institutions. They breath life into our plans and deliver global learning opportunities. They bring positive energy and enthusiasm that bolsters the CCSA team. And special shout-out to Robin, Robert, Gena, and Stephen for their dedication and diligence.
As we wrap up 2022, I wish to thank everyone who has made and continues to make CCSA an effective part of the education abroad universe. I hope for a safe and happy holiday season for each of you.
