Risk Management & Insurance in London is a custom global program managed by CCSA for Eastern Kentucky University. In the course, students explore London — the home to one of the three most important insurance and reinsurance markets in the world.

The itinerary includes visits to companies that handle Cyber Risk, Space, Political Risk, and Equine insurance, as well as international insurers such as Marsh, Guy Carpenter, and Lloyd’s. They will also meet professionals who handle mining insurance with ties to Kentucky.

The course is taught the Dr. Lisa Gardner, Director of the RMI program. Dr. Juan Zhang, Assistant Professor, joins the program to continue the offering in future years. Debbie Ellis, RMI Program Coordinator, serves as the on-site administrator in London in partnership with Gardner and Zhang.

The group will also enjoy Explore time in London at the Shard, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and Westminster Abbey. They will experience a traditional Afternoon Tea and take in a show in London’s West End. A weekend in Brighton enables students to see life outside of London.

Arrival in London

The group departed on May 15 and returns on May 28. The on-site portion is the culmination of a semester-long course and caps the academic year for the seven students.

CCSA-Custom-Global

CCSA Custom Global organizes short-term (eight weeks or less) “faculty-directed” credit and non-credit programs in US domestic and English-speaking international locations. Custom programs enable schools to control their programs while CCSA provides logistical support. The school selects the program leaders and approves the program, then CCSA Custom Global helps make it happen.
