CCSA’s first program of 2022 commences in Bermuda in March 2022.

This Custom Global Program, designed for Eastern Kentucky University, offers an International Insurance and Reinsurance Markets course through EKU’s Risk Management and Insurance program.

Program Leaders

Dr. Lisa Gardner and Debbie Ellis, both from Accounting, Finance and Information Systems department, are leading the program. Both led the CCSA program in 2020, just before the pandemic shut down everything. Lisa is the director of the RMI program and Debbie is program coordinator.

The six students are enrolled in a Spring 2022 course, and with the Bermuda component, they learn about one of the most important insurance markets in the world.  The on-site portion includes visits to the offices of several captives, insurers and reinsurers in Bermuda, as well as the offices of insurance regulators and other relevant government officials.  While there, students explore Bermuda’s lifestyle the National Museum of Bermuda, Royal Navy Dockyard, and the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity. The on-site component in Bermuda takes place March 11 to 19.

Through the generous financial support of the RMI department, these students will add to their resume by learning directly from those in the field.

Gardner and Ellis will lead a similar program to London in May 2022, thereby providing RMI students a range of career-enhancing opportunities.
